Central Pines
Regional Council
The Opportunity
Central Pines Regional Council (CPRC) is a regional planning organization serving communities across central North Carolina. One of its most ambitious initiatives to date is developing a unified regional plan that addresses aging populations, economic mobility, housing, land use, transportation, and water and sewage infrastructure – giving public officials and residents a clear understanding of shared needs and local responsibilities.
To make this initiative successful, CPRC needed broad public buy-in from key government stakeholders and regional ambassadors, along with funding and sponsorships to make the planning process a reality.
To help achieve that, Central Pines Regional Council partnered with Capitol B to create a movement – anchored by a new brand – to build awareness and inspire engagement.

The Work
Our collaboration began with a series of discovery sessions with CPRC leadership, followed by regional listening sessions where we heard directly from government officials, community leaders, and residents across the region. These conversations surfaced the themes, language, and insights that would shape a compelling and unifying brand.
We needed something memorable, energizing and inclusive, so we created the Thrive Central NC Movement. This included a full brand identity, a strategic framework, and a vision statement to guide regional alignment. To bring it to life, we launched supporting videos and a landing page designed to grow alongside the movement.
Leveraging our deep experience with nonprofits, we also developed a case for support to spark conversations, open new opportunities, and fuel long-term growth for the important work CPRC leads.
